Chickens not answer

August 2019

I read the article "To beef or not to beef?" and couldn't believe my eyes. It stated, "Swapping beef burgers for chicken cuts breast cancer risk by more than a quarter, research suggests." Actually admitting red meat can cause breast cancer as well as already established, bowel cancer. But to suggest chicken is a better food source is mind-blowing, it is full of saturated fat and cholesterol which can block arteries and lead to heart disease and stroke. Today, genetically modified chickens are up to 10 times fatter than birds from decades ago. They harbour bacteria such as enterococcus, salmonella and E Coli. Scientists are recommending a plant-based diet as a much healthier, safer option.

After conducting scale-up efforts that made waves throughout the industry, Beyond Meat has finally gone public with its plans for global domination!

In 2018, Beyond Meat will be taking its plant-based meats to omnivores abroad in more than 50 countries across six continents. Food-lovers, environmentalists, and health-seeker—it’s time to celebrate!

This monumental expansion follows the construction of a new research and innovation center in Los Angeles earlier this year, which is “projected to cut production scale-up timelines in half.” Considering that Beyond Meat doubled its sales in 2017 and made it into more than 27,000 grocery stores and restaurants in the U.S. alone, one can see why such an expansion is necessary!

Now in Australia

With former McDonald’s CEO Don Thompson on the company’s board, we have to wonder if the Beyond Burger will one day become as ubiquitous as the Big Mac. As the startup races to deliver the familiar flavor and texture of meat – just from plants, not animals – we believe that it is possible to redefine meat on this scale, especially if the end result is as delicious as Beyond’s burgers, sausages, and other cutting-edge products.

Thanks for changing the world with good food, Beyond Meat!

PLANT-BASED MEAT LEADER, BEYOND MEAT®, ANNOUNCES EXTENSIVE GLOBAL EXPANSION PLANS FOR THIS SUMMER

FOLLOWING EXPLOSIVE U.S. GROWTH, BEYOND MEAT IS EXPANDING ITS GLOBAL PRESENCE THIS SUMMER, OFFERING A REVOLUTIONARY SOLUTION TO THE GROWING GLOBAL DEMAND FOR PROTEIN

El Segundo, CALIF. (May 8, 2018) --- Beyond Meat® announces another category first: its breakthrough plant-based burgers are heading abroad with plans for expanded distribution and availability across six continents this summer. The mission driven company which aims to positively impact human health, the environment and animal welfare by replacing the protein at the center of the plate with plant-based meat, will work with leading distribution and food service partners globally to roll out The Beyond Burger(r) worldwide.

"The company has found extensive success in the U.S. market, doubling sales in 2017 and increasing distribution of its portfolio to more than 27,000 grocery stores and restaurants. "Reflecting rapid demand growth in the United States and sustained interest from international markets, we've taken steps to significantly increase our production capacity," said Beyond Meat Founder & CEO Ethan Brown. "These additions make it possible for us to support international launches, building upon the successful 2017 introduction of the Beyond Burger in Hong Kong."

In the coming months, Beyond Meat has partnered with a select group of distributors to enter over 50 countries including Germany and the rest of Europe, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Chile, Israel, UAE, Korea, Taiwan and South Africa.

A SIZZLING SENSATION

Since launching The Beyond Burger in 2016, Beyond Meat has sold more than 13 million of its protein-packed patties which can be found in nearly 15,000 restaurants and grocery stores across the U.S. The Beyond Burger is the world's only burger that looks, cooks, and tastes like ground beef from cows but is made entirely from plants, without GMOs, soy, or gluten. Crafted with simple plant-based ingredients, applied in fresh ways, The Beyond Burger has more protein than a beef burger, with less saturated and total fat.

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF PROTEIN

With a clearly defined mission, Beyond Meat's world-class team of researchers and food scientists work together towards a singular goal: perfectly build a piece of meat from plants. An industry gamechanger, Beyond Meat created a cutting-edge process that organizes each of its plant-based ingredients to deliver against the unique texture of meat. By braiding together proteins, fats and minerals, Beyond Meat is able to re-create the basic architecture, and thus texture, of meat.

Earlier this year, Beyond Meat announced the construction of its new research and innovation facility in Los Angeles. A seven-fold increase of the existing R&D footprint, the new state-of-the-art facility is projected to cut production scale-up timelines in half, enabling the company to bring a new product to market every year.
